Peninsula Plein Air Painters

Peninsula Plein Air Painters (PPAP) is a group of independent, accomplished artists painting within the geographical area of the Peninsula of Door County and the adjacent regions of northeast Wisconsin.
PPAP began as a loosely-knit group in 2005, continuing until its official formation in 2007 by the current Charter Members.

Mission Statement:

PPAP is dedicated to:

  • the preservation and continuation of traditional plein air painting
  • foster and promote its advancement, appreciation, and participation through regular and frequent paint-outs, exhibitions, workshops, demonstrations, and other special events.

    • The Gallery:
    Dal Santo's Trattoria is pleased to announce that on May 10th they will become the showcase gallery for the Peninsula Plein Air Painters. The restaurant and gallery are located in historic downtown Sturgeon Bay at 147 N 3rd Avenue. Dal Santo's has a history of showcasing local and regional artwork, and will now feature a rotating selection of artwork by the members of PPAP.

    * In the event of inclement weather, a "rain date" is to be two days later with no change in place or start time. So,if we get rained out on a Wednesday,we go to Wednesday's paint-out site on the following Friday.
